"Flying University" is named in honor of people from all eras, whether recognized or anonymous, who pursued studies through self-taught, free, or even clandestine means. The first institution with this name educated, for example, Marie SkΕodowska-Curie, better known as Marie Curie.
The name is also associated with the Flying Fish project, dedicated since 2006 to promoting development through education.
